SMP for
Scarring
Initially, scalp micropigmentation was limited to conceal scars from head trauma and hair transplants. Over time, with advancements in equipment and artist education, the modification of scars using scalp micropigmentation has expanded to cover all types of scars on the scalp. Many clients are now referred by doctors.
Scalp scarring most often prevents any hair growth since scar tissue is too dense. For this reason, the artist must have experience working with scars since the dense structure of the skin at the area requires a careful approach. Under the care of a skilled artist, clients see their scars literally disappear. Where once a large scar or several scars caused a client to feel self-conscious, they are no longer noticeable with SMP.
